Skyworth Digital Holdings Limited(“Skyworth” or the “Group”)(HKEX stock code: 0751) today proudly announced the Group was awarded “2006 Hong Kong Awards for Industries: Technological Achievement Certificate of Merit”, in recognition of its achievement in technology , intellectual property development and product innovation. The award presentation ceremony was held tonight (5 February) at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with HKSAR Financial Secretary Mr. Henry Tang as the guest of honour.

Skyworth’s “Six Basic Colours” is the entry technology of the competition.
“Six Basic Colours” could improve the overall LCD performance through the colour processing technology of six 3D colours (red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow). This technology has been applied in LCD TV, with remarkable improvement proven in TV picture quality. Since its development in 2004, the “Six Basic Colours” has been awarded “First-tier Progress Award in Science and Technology” in Shenzhen and Guangdong province.

Mr. Wang continued, “Skyworth’s ‘Six Basic Colours’ is a great revolution in TV colour processing. It indicates our high regard for and focused efforts on product development and innovation. The award is not only a justification of our successful R&D development in the past few years, but also gives us great encouragement to continue the pursuit of technology excellence in the future.”

“Honouring excellence and applauding success” is the theme of the “2006
Hong Kong Awards for Industries”. It is an award scheme championed by the
Government, aiming to commend outstanding achievements and the performance excellence of enterprises in both the manufacturing and services sectors. “2006 Hong Kong Awards for Industries” comprises seven categories of awards organized by seven associations. The category of Technology Achievement is organized by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. Entrants of this category should be manufacturing or manufacturing-related companies or service industry directly related to manufacturing, and have a proven record of good management, sound
business strategy and development and implementation of technology.
